Chapter 30 - A New Model Of You, A More Important Person

All the practice projects have now been covered, and all those special projects attended to. Here you are, like a "senior" on commencement day.

This is truly a great day for you, and I wish I could share it with you in person. I would like to meet you, fresh from your recent experiences. I would shake your hand and say, "Well, let me take a look at you now!" But I don't have to be with you to know what I would see. I know I would see a more important person than the one I met in Chapter 1, although both would be you!

Congratulations to a more important person

Your change in status was inevitable. It was forecast at the moment you signed your name in this book, back there at the beginning. And now you are more important more important to the world and more important to yourself. All this has happened because of what you have done, through self-influenced action. You had guidance, of course, but you were the one who made a dynamic interpretation of that guidance. You were the one who brought yourself to this point of perfection, and I congratulate you.

Back in Chapter 7, we had quite a discussion of the "latest models in human beings." Of course, I don't know what particular model, or combination of them, you agreed was the description of yourself at that time. But I am certain that you chose one special model as the one that would describe you sometime in the future. I am sure I don't need to remind you of the description of that ideal model since it, and probably some additional features you have added, has been your subconsciously held objective ever since. But right now, I have an objective in mind as I review that description with you. I would be surprised if you had no emotional reactions as you read along with me.

How do you compare with that ideal model?

We described this ideal model as a person who is going along steadily and surely on a program of his own making. We said that he is able to make choices that comprise his program, that they fit together admirably with the activities of the world about him. We said that his program of living is basically self-influenced, but that he never fails to use the best outside influences to his advantage. We said that, when desirable, he was able to influence other people and his environment. We said that life is no mystery to him and that he actively supports the progressive programs that are aimed at making this a better world. We also said that certainly he is a candidate for that "master race" of progressive, important people.

What were your emotional reactions as you read that description of a person? I am pretty sure I know what they were. You felt as though you were standing in a spotlight, reading a "citation" about yourself, and you felt that it was true!

That new, better model is you

And that brings me to my objective. You will recall that once before I said: "You are today what you have done in the past." I repeat that now and tell you that it applies perfectly here. What you have done in the recent past, through your dedication to the projects in this book and through your dedication to self-influenced action, has made you what you are today. That description fits you today; it is you we have just read about!

You have reached this point of perfection because you have made your subconscious mind your partner in action. The world about you is now adjudging you as a "more important person" purely on the basis of what you have recently done and what you are now doing. Other people who are important to you are measuring and evaluating your actions and your attitudes, as expressed in action. Their reaction to your actions is causing them to say, "Here is a fine person, worth knowing and cultivating." This evaluation by others, and the resultant judgments, will continue as long as you live. If you are to maintain your "more important" status, then certainly your actions must continue on the same level as now. And so, we come right back to that same basic premise that started this whole experience for you, and that is the standard of importance you set up for yourself. The obvious answer is for you to maintain and strengthen that partnership with your subconscious. This self-influence factors that brought you to this perfected point, must be used again and again to keep you there. There is no doubt that you will use them, is there?

The many attributes of this new model

Here are the "self' factors that have made you "more important."

You have self-assurance, and you have used it to motivate your positive actions. Continue!

You have self-confidence, and you have used it to overcome negative influences through positive action. Continue!

You have self-determination, and you have used it to take you toward your goals, through positive action. Continue!

You have self-reliance, and you have used it to guide you in making positive decisions. Continue!

You have self-sufficiency, and you have used it to cause stimulating interpretations of what a good LIFE really means. Continue!

You have self-respect, and you have used it to put the right value on your "net worth" as a person. Continue!

You have practiced self-expression, and found it to be a rewarding experience, approved by others. Continue!

And you have self-control, and you have used it positively and aggressively. Continue!

Keep using subconscious self-influence

Yes, you are more important now because of self-influenced action. The difference between this recent action and action that may have come from self-influence in the past is that it is all positive action. It is the result of concentrated positive self-influence. It happened because of that partnership you established with your subconscious. So when I suggest that you continue to use and depend upon those self factors, I know that I am suggesting something that you understand and have already put on the priority list in your life. Subconscious self-influence brought you to this desirable status, and it will keep you there, always!

Thank you!

Certainly you should have an "award" on this, your "graduation," day. I suppose it could be some kind of a certificate or plaque. But in my opinion, neither would indicate the true value of your accomplishment. However, I can give you something else in recognition of this personal achievement, something that is highly treasured by other people who have it and greatly envied by those who do not have it. This is the appreciation and thanks of the world for the contributions you make to it, as a better person. We, who live in the world with you, applaud you for your self-made standards of accomplishment. We know that this will be a better world only as there are better people living here. You have made yourself a better person, and everyone of us will benefit from your active part in life, as this better person. We thank you!

Great expectations ahead

But, also speaking for "the world," let me tell you that now we expect great things of you! Of course that is what you expect of yourself. So while we have our eyes on you, you will have a watchful eye on yourself. I have no doubt that this new model of you will get better and better, in the stimulating future that is just ahead!

In Sum

You and your subconscious your partner in action have made you a new person.

Continue to use your subconscious.

You and the world will be better for it.
